Effortlessly Chic: Italian Style
On my recent trip to Italy, I fell in love all over again with how stylish Italian women are. It had me thinking about what actually makes someone stylish. It's not from studying every designer brand, knowing all the current trends, or wearing an outfit identical to what's on the mannequin, your favorite influencer, or a celebrity. It's honestly more internal — I feel like it's in the DNA of Italian women. It's an attitude: they're confident and don't worry about what other people think. I think it's more about being confident in yourself and your body. It goes much deeper than knowing fashion or style…it's about knowing yourself. Style is knowing who you are, wearing what you want, and not caring about the rules. We have to know ourselves in order to exude the effortless chic that Italians demonstrate. And I do feel like Italians teach and model this for their children — they seem to learn how to dress at a young age. They also seem to simplify things and understand the importance of fabric, quality, and tailoring. Somehow it feels like in America we've moved away from the things that matter in fashion and style. It's about teaching the foundations. Don't get me wrong, there are so many stylish American women. But as a whole, Italian women have it.
I'm always inspired when I travel, and I often come home energized. With that energy, I wanted to share some of the Italian brands I discovered — plus a few I already knew and just love. I'm seeing Italian brands everywhere lately, so I'm here to share them and hopefully inspire YOU too!
