Traveling With A Capsule Wardrobe
The kids are off to camp and mom and dad are off to Palm Beach! As always, when I begin packing for a trip, I think of just how important traveling with a capsule wardrobe is. Over Spring Break I was able to pack my entire family in carry ons for a ski trip (SEE IT HERE) with ease through this method. So, what are the secrets you ask? Nothing I’m not more than happy to share!
Here are my top tips on packing with success:
Choose Your Color Pallet - The first and maybe most important step for me is picking a color pallet to hone in on your wardrobe for a trip. I usually stick to more neutral colors that can easily mix and match together.
Choose Your Shoes - I typically pack 1 day shoe and 1 night shoe. My day shoes is usually a sneaker and my night shoe is typically a flat sandal. All my outfits are picked out and styled around the shoes I pick out.
Try on All Your Outfits - Be sure to try on all your outfits to make sure they work. I don’t believe in throwing in a few options to choose from. I want to have my outfits picked out ahead of time so I don’t bring extra clothes.
Make Sure You Can Mix And Match - After deciding on colors, shoes, and outfits I go the looks to see what can be worn with other pieces. Bringing a set is great for wearing together or breaking up with different bottoms and pieces in your suitcase.
Pack The Essentials - My bonus tip to you all is to pack with the essentials! I have listed out all my favorite travel packing items to make carrying on a breeze. See the packing cubes, steamers, and other items I love HERE.
I hope these tips help with your next trip! And if you are still interested in learning how to pack to perfection, you can see my Travel Capsule Wardrobe Catalog or send your email address to elizabeth@elizabetheliasconsulting.com to receive my FREE Travel Packing List!
