Getting in the Sneaker Game

As we see the trend of sneakers becoming more and more prevalent, I am being asked what are my go to tips for finding a nice and unique pair. I have had many clients who are saying they want to learn more about sneakers and how to pick the best pair. Lucky for you all… I have been down the rabbit hole of sneakers, and while I LOVE my Golden Goose sneakers, I too wanted to find alternatives that are a little less well known!

Here are some tips on how to pick out a sneaker you will love and reach for time and time again:

Start with a WHITE SNEAKER

Starting with a basic white sneaker is the best way to get the MOST bang for your buck. This can be a canvas or a leather shoe, depending on if your overall aesthetic is usually more dressed up or dressed down.

Go With The Opposite

If you feel like you have room for more than one sneaker in your wardrobe, go with the opposite of the first! Find a darker option that gives a totally different feel. Maybe your first pair has a low sole, try to find a raised option. Even look for a high top if that suits you and is different from the first!

Then go FUNKY!

Lastly, if you are still looking for other options to add to your sneaker collection, go for a funky one! This is when adding in sparkle, color, mixed textures is a green light moment. Keeping in mind how much this pair will mesh with your current wardrobe is always a smart thing to keep in mind, but one that will allow you to have some FUN!

And last but not least - my biggest takeaway is to keep in mind a sneaker that is so versatile you could wear it during the day or dress it up at night on a trip! Not only does this allow you to cut down on your packing, but it will bring you into the sneaker game with the mindset that it has to be comfortable enough to be worn for a full day (even if you don’t)!!
