Making The Holidays BRIGHT!

As a creative, when I prep for any big occasions like the holidays I typically start with fashion and housewares.  It’s like I have to get my creative juices flowing with areas that I love and then all the details of these special occasions fall into place.

Because you know that I like to give you guys quick easy to consume tips let me break it down for you on how to prep your home for the holidays:

  • Make A List-You guessed it, always start with a list! Like with your wardrobe, it’s important to take that time to create a list of the things you are celebrating over the next few weeks. Then create a list of the supplies you need to shop for. I even mark where I’m going to shop for each of those specific items. Honestly this first step is SO therapeutic to me and really makes planning for the holiday season not so overwhelming.

  • Add it to your Calendar-Once you have a shopping list, block time in your calendar to shop for these items. This allows you to get things in time and not reactively shopping. Also, mark your calendar when you plan to decorate for each holiday.

  • Include your Family-Wherever you can, it’s always more meaningful to add your family into decorating your home for the holidays. There are different jobs depending on who is in your family. Be creative on what you engage everyone to help with. It truly makes the holidays more magical!

I’m sharing a few of my favorite items I use to decorate around my house for a bit of inspiration here.  I hope your holidays are lovely and BRIGHT, and your home shines with love and light!

with LOVE and grace,
